Things We Love: Broadway's Annual Miscast Gala

One of the many highlights of the Broadway season is the annual Miscast Gala, hosted by MCC Theater, an off-Broadway company known for developing new and unusual productions. The concert benefits the theater’s efforts in producing works, developing emerging playwrights, and supporting in-school partnerships with NYC public schools.

The exclusive gala has become a viral sensation in the theater community. Many theatre nerds place attending the Miscast Gala at the top of their bucket list.

Broadway’s great stars jump at the chance to perform favorite songs from characters they aren’t “fit” to play professionally because of age, gender, race or type. Performances range from hilarious characterizations to heartfelt interpretations, keeping audiences on the edges of their seats guessing what the next performer will sing.

Good Night was thrilled to bring our own rendition of this miscast idea to Sioux Falls, S.D. in our first cabaret: “Twisted: A Miscast Cabaret” on November 17, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. at the ICON Lounge. Curious about our set list? Check out the Spotify playlist before for all of the songs we miscast!
